it’s me, hi.

I’m a freelance ghostwriter, editorial consultant and journalist, based in London.

Until summer 2023, I worked for Hearst, where I started as a baby features intern on Red magazine and worked my way up to Health & Wellbeing Editor across Good Housekeeping, Red and Prima. Here, I had some amazing opportunities, including editing Red’s ‘Self’ and ‘Reads’ sections (at different times); writing my own column (Red’s ‘Wellness Edit’) and interviewing some incredible people, like Dolly Parton, Brené Brown, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Glennon Doyle, Jane Fonda, Romesh Ranganathan, Dan Stevens and Emma Barnett.

I still write articles for a range of publications, but I’m also kept busy co-writing and editing bestselling memoirs and self-help books. I have worked with major publishers from Penguin, Hachette and Bloomsbury, and I have worked closely with some of the most recognisable names in the entertainment industry. I have also hosted panels and live interviews at events including GH Live, Manchester Wellbeing Festival and Red’s Smart Women Week, as well as online book chats with Penguin and Fane Productions.

I’d describe my writing style as empathetic, sensitive and clear - with a touch of humour wherever possible. I don’t shy away from discomfort or complexity, but I firmly believe that good books and journalism should never feel like a chore to read. I love writing about wellness trends, sex and relationships, mental health, and inspiring people.

A conversationalist and a storyteller, I pride myself on making people feel comfortable enough to share their stories with me, and I frequently make lasting bonds with the authors, editors and agents I work with.

My hobbies include Taylor Swift (and pop more broadly), yoga (although I am still unbelievably inflexible), bullet journalling, reality TV, anything Jewish, embracing my inner child, and talking endlessly about nonsense.

If you think we could work together, I’d love to hear from you: ariellenaomisteele@gmail.com.
